Lil Wayne & Nicki Minaj to Perform in Chicago this Spring

Hip hop star Lil Wayne will make a stop at the United Center on Friday, April 1 with fellow artists Nicki Minaj, Travis Barker and Rick Ross. Midwestern fans will only have a handful of chances to see the performers live with just two other dates scheduled nearby, Detroit (Apr. 2) and Cleveland (Mar. 24).

The I Am Music II tour is a sequel to Lil Wayne’s 2008-09 I Am Music tour, which grossed approximately $42 million and drew nearly 804,000 fans.

Nicki Minaj

This time around he’ll be joined by Nicki Minaj, female rapper and hip hop singer/songwriter.  Minaj released her new album Pink Friday only a month ago and it’s already gained Platinum certification in the United States. If you’ve heard Kanye West’s new hit song ‘Monster’ you’ve also been privy to Minaj’s guest verse, the only female verse and arguably the best of the song.

Other special guests include Miami rapper Rick Ross and blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, who will perform a DJ/Drummer set with Mixmaster Mike.

Tickets for the all ages United Center show go on sale through Ticketmaster tomorrow (Friday) at 5PM CST.
