Riot Fest Preview
Riot Fest kicks off this Friday at Humboldt Park in Chicago.
The punk, rock and alternative music festival first got its start in 2005. While it has been held in different places over the years, including Brooklyn, Toronto, and Denver, Chicago has remained a mainstay for the festival. Riot Fest officially begins Friday, September 12th and wraps up Sunday, September 14th.
This year’s festival features Jane’s Addiction, The National, The Flaming Lips, The Cure, Rise Against, and Weezer to name a few. The first show kicks off on Friday at 3:00 pm and the music continues to play until 10:00 pm each night. The seven different stages are spread out throughout the park and provide a unique and awesome environment to see live music in.
Riot Fest offers over a dozen carnival rides, arcade games, and a 9-hole mini golf course. The proceeds all going towards the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless. In addition to the great music and fun, Riot Fest also has all of your food needs covered. Some of the very best food vendors in Chicago including Wao Bow, Porkchop, and El Campeon can be found within the park. A full list of all the vendors and the entire lineup can be found linked below.
The festival has two entrances. One on the corner of Division and California (shown below) and the other on North ave. You can access Riot Fest via the public transportation as well.
Gold Coast Tickets has you covered with three day as well as single day passes still on sale!
