James Taylor at Wrigley Field

James Taylor at Wrigley Field

Humility is a quality that doesn’t usually describe a celebrity, much less a rock & roll hall of fame inductee.  But anyone would be humble after living a life of ups & downs like James Taylor has.  He appreciates the fans he has & doesn’t let his expansive resume get to his head.  His current tour features 2 parts with an intermission in between, which Taylor uses to sign autographs & interact with fans instead of taking a breather.

The hall-of-famer doesn’t need a fancy stage set up to put on a great show, his music, band & personality are enough to please a crowd of any size.  Some of his earlier stops on this tour had an audience of 5000 people or less so his upcoming show at Wrigley Field on June 30 should be one to remember.  The beauty of his shows is the simplicity, each member of his all star band actually plays their instrument without any mimicking or recordings being played.  There might be an error or 2 but that’s what makes the show so attractive, the band really plays, James really sings & both sound incredible together.  Taylor will sit on a bar stool with an acoustic guitar wearing his classic newsboy cap with only his band & a few stage lights to compliment him.  Fans who have attended earlier shows on this tour have praised his set list which is filled with old favorites & some new songs that Taylor joked, “sound just like the old ones.”  His dry sense of humor keeps the crowd involved between songs as well, often poking fun of himself & his band.

James Taylor may not have the same flash & flare as some other acts that have played Wrigley Field, but he can entertain a crowd in his own way & makes a stadium/arena show feel intimate.  Special guest Jackson Browne will be performing as Taylor’s opening act so you don’t want to miss out on this concert.  Be sure to pick up your tickets from Gold Coast by clicking here, great seats are still available.
