Wrigley Reopens April 10 for Baseball & More
It feels like just yesterday that the Cubs were parading around Chicago showing off their newest trophy. I guess that’s what happens when the season runs into November & the city is on pins & needles waiting to see if the 108 year curse could be broken. The lengthy postseason also delayed renovations on Wrigley Field which should be finished by opening day, but construction crews have been scrambling to complete the project on time, click here to see aerial photos of the progress. Wrigleyville is known for its stretch of restaurants & bars that surround Wrigley Field, but now the Ricketts family are set to unveil the first phase of their plan to revitalize the neighborhood, adding a new high-end Starbucks Reserve coffee bar, 2 story Cubs merchandise store, Jostens Jewelry Store (designers of the 2016 Cubs World Championship rings), a 2-floor tavern & grill with outdoor terrace seating, and trophy room that gives fans a chance to view & take pictures of the Championship Trophy when it’s on display. The Plaza will host a variety of free events like movie nights & farmers market as well as paid events like the 2 day Craft & Cuisine Celebration that samples craft beer & wine from local establishments. Wrigley Field will be booming this summer, if championship baseball & new plaza isn’t enough to bring you to the North side, the biggest concert lineup in the ballparks history should do the trick. Lady Gaga, Jimmy Buffett, Billy Joel, Green Day, and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers are all scheduled to headline at the iconic venue. Gold Coast Tickets has amazing seats for each show, click here to see what’s available. There will be something for everyone this summer in Wrigleyville, do yourself a favor & join the fun in The Park at Wrigley!
